#1 is a good establishment shot, a construction of the scene, just like in movie making, filming. I like my eyes goes from one place to the other just like those people, waiting for something to happen.
#2 tells the story itself of what is currently happening, people looking and all that...
#3 is fun, ships leaving nearly forgotten though the shadow of the ship still connects, there is a bit of drama there with the shadow of the ship.
#4 -- is more fun. A little bit farther back and you could have got the line to the fish too.
