    This must be really small for the baptismal to be located outside. Interesting...I wonder what kind of church this is...?

    You are not in the center of the alley from which this impression of distortion. The first plan is rough, I agree with Nandakumar

    I found this website which gives a lot more detail. Certainly an interesting place (and it is always unlocked, which is fairly unusual for C of E churches nowadays).

    Thanks Jean. Yes, I thought this might be the issue. I wasn't really trying to take a symmetrical shot, but it might have been better if I had, though I don't think that this is a very symmetrical place, just bits tacked on over the years. The screen certainly isn't very symmetrical

    Having looked at the website on English churches, I can well believe the difficulty in getting a 'tidy' shot of the interior. These small, old churches are not easy to photograph inside, what with little elbow room and low or contrasty light. Given the circumstances, you have done well.

    Thank You John. One thing that really helps is that they are often devoid of other visitors, so that at least one can set one's photographic stall out, as it were, without getting in anyone's way or feeling under pressure.
