Vertical lines are corrected very well. I like the angle and the B&W conversion. Only thing that I wish is that there were some billowing white clouds in the sky...

Excellent composition with lines emanating from the corners, well captured

Great conversion and use of the lamp pole. Contrary to Richard's thinking, I believe clouds in the sky would have made the photo a bit too complex.

Consider cropping at the bottom to eliminate the foreground railing. Doing so simplifies the image for me and takes my eye directly to the important areas of the scene, whereas that railing pulls my eye out of the frame.

Thank you to all above for viewing and posting your encouraging comments.

Richard and Mike - regarding the sky I think you could both be right. I like the way that, due to the position of the sun, the conversion of the blue sky via a yellow filter has produced the smooth graduation in the tones there, from light to dark from lower left to upper right.

Mike, your suggestion of a crop is certainly valid. I chose the more rectangular format to aid the impression of a steep hill, and so that the railings, steps and church gave a sort of S-shape to the composition; I would have liked to include more steps alongside the lower railing, but trees stopped me getting any further back.

    Thanks again.

    Cheers.

Philip, I like this a lot. I (also) would get rid of the foreground railing. Perhaps lighten the middle and top right sky. Maybe only.
    That is only my opinion.
    Cheers Ole
