Chives in Blossom
A good friend enjoys cooking as much as I do, so she gave my wife and me a pot of herbs last year. The chives have just begun to blossom with just one blossom fully open, so I made these two photos for her.
Setup Photo #1
The background is black velvet. A small continuous-light lamp on the right and behind the subjects back lights some of the petals and brightens the right edge of the stems. A black card placed between the lamp and the camera eliminates flare caused by that lamp. A medium continuous-light lamp on the left side at a greater distance from the scene adds light to that side of the scene.
Setup Photo #2
The background is black velvet. A small continuous-light lamp is on the front right side and a medium continuous-light lamp is on the left side.

Re: Chives in Blossom
Super shot, nice lighting showing the volume of the plants, nice colors too.
