I like this one, nice change in textures.

Too neat, too smooth...it lacks an element of something...

Yes, nothing wrong with the shooting technique and it probably looks stunning in colour but for me this version needs a definite foreground subject or nice fluffy clouds, etc. Maybe, simply less sky?

The second image does have impact.

Interesting that others find the first image to be lacking something.....I like it. My eyes wander the hills and I float across the waters lost in reverie. Images like this provide a form of meditation that satisfies me. However I've also received the same criticism of images I've made....lacking a focal point or some visual "treat". Perhaps the more subtle view of nature works for some of us? While I like the second image, despite the more immediate impact of the structure, I found that I looked, I liked, but I didn't linger as I did with the first. More than my two cents worth for today.

I like this one better, Robert. At least my eyes can see more of this and that. In the first one, it would have nice to see even a car or something to use as a scale, that was what I really mean. I do not speak and think English very well so you'll have to forgive my English, OK?

    I admire #1
#2 is good, but may be, because of harsh light, it works less for me

This is exactly how I feel Andrew although to round a picture a something with impact perhaps should be there. However, I like that serenity, changes of shades...
Here is another photo that deserve same technical criticism, but, guess, you may like it as much as I do. Thanks for commenting.

    Re: 50 shades of gray

Thank you all for good comments.

Geoff, Izzie, photo could, perhaps, be more interesting with something to draw viewer's attention, to entertain an eye until it reaches shores, but whenever I come across an object or a view that looks deserted and minimal cannot resist.

Nandakumar, agree fully with you. It was a very bright midday so white structure is really poking ones eye. But it is very different than #1 which is the reason I put it there. All of above photos were taken within 10 minutes period, more or less, from the same spot. Amazing scenery.

The last scene has a more interesting cliff line so it works better for me. Maybe the horizon line is too central but in this case I don't think that is a serious problem.

Thanks Geoff for good comments. This shot was almost in same line as previous but about 60 m above sea level.
