That was the intention of this series.
Later I used this method to shoot a butcher chopping meat. Rather low ss and hoping on a nice image when his ax lowered. I think the time between the begin and the end of that movement is less as a second. I was less successful.

In a darker environment, this type of shot often works very well when used in combination with flash. The ambient light will give you a nice motion blur (with an appropriately long shutter speed) and the flash will freeze the subject. Setting the flash to Rear Curtain (Nikon terminology) or Second Shutter (Canon terminology) works well.

Public can be a nice object: either they act all equal or there's one that does something else.

About this way of shooting. It's often used in different kind of sport photography. I just went to the World Press Photo exhibition. I think the two winners used the mitrailleur to.

Off topic.
I wanted to take my new wide angle lens with me. But my camera bag slipped from my shoulder at the top of the stairs. Lens broken, camera still working. I always have it on my neck, now on my shoulder for some unknown reason.

Very nice George...but how did you really do it? Can you please explain the process? My recent shots at a Chinese circus all have movement blurs...what is your setting? did you use a tripod? Any more details that I need to learn from? Thanks for any response...

Mitrailleur= continuously shooting. That's a setting on your camera. It will take 5,6,7,8 shots per second. I do set the camera on manual. I forgot to set the lens on manual too but I doubt the focusing is working in that mode.
The exif is in the pictures. Mine were 1/1000s, f8, iso 1000 and 28mm. Just a choice but you need a short shutterspeed.

I understood you 'lost' your exif viewer. In the supermarket?
I don't know what happened but if you use firefox under windows you can install an add-on in the browser. Than right mouse click on the picture, select exif viewer and that's it.

I kinda like my Chrome one which I lost. It was very detailed including what the other person used as an editing software just by right clicking. I just bought me a MacBook Pro 17" but I am using the old laptop for internet until I can get used to it...so moving programs to the Mac was a pain. There are some programs I need to buy that Windows can use but not a Mac. In my confusion I lost my EXIF program. and that is my excuse. The truth -- I am not computer savvy anymore. Old age.
