Too often I 'temporarily' make an adjustment for one shot and forget to reset to my 'default settings' so end up with problems of slow shutter speed etc.
Under average conditions I can usually shoot at Iso 400 without any serious noise issues; but yes, I get nervous at 800 or above.
Thanks Geoff. You are right, it was overcast. How could you tell?

ps: I fight with my camera settings all the time. It seems like no matter what I choose, there could have been a "better choice" LOL. Yours worked out just fine :) in my opinion!
Thanks Sandy.

Returned to check up on the swan. They were doing fine. She is sitting on 4 eggs, two of which can be seen in this shot,

while papa swan is collecting sticks to work on the nest.
Final shot is a close-up of the eggs!

Yes, the turtle lives! The swan seems to tolerate it well.

Visited the site of the swan's nest today. From a distance I could see that neither parent was sitting on the eggs.

I looked around and found them not far away getting to know each other. :D

Thanks Donald for the step by step instructions for uploading from Flickr. Your instructions were perfectly clear and as you can see, successful.
Re: 2017 Project 52, Second Quarter by Joe/ Joebranko
Hi Joe ~ Was it warm enough for them to leave the eggs? Or maybe they haven't started to incubate them in earnest yet?
I've enjoyed seeing this series of your swans in action. I like the way you've captured and processed your shots! Excellent work!
