Javier, you children are adorable. If this was my image, I would remove the tree leaves in the top left corner (think what John is calling a hand), and then I'd see how the image would look if it was brightened a tiny bit.

Javier, I agree with Kim about brightening the image. Instead of a global brightening, I placed a NIK Viveza control point on the shadow side of each face and used the shadows slider to brighten the shadows. That brightened the shadows without brightening the sun side of the children's faces.

+1 to what Kim and Richard have said. I see nothing in the image that would indicate it should be that dark. There seems to be some hot spots on one side of the face, but the bulk of the tonal range in the histogram is on the left hand side. That seems unusual for this type of scene, where I would expect to see a lot more mid-tones.
I also don't see a lot of value of the material above the heads of the two children and would be tempted to crop that right back and bring the children into more prominence.
