Nice shot, Brian your persistence has paid off. If it were mine I would crop a bit off the bottom - just above the lumpy bits on the petal.

Depending upon taste that could work if I moved into a rectangular crop. But I don't think it works with a square crop

Well, if you do it like that it doesn't. But I wasn't suggesting taking anything off the rhs, just the bottom.

reread what I wrote. It could work nicely in a rectangle but it is a square crop and if I stick to square....

Could you explain the title? Cacophony in my dictionary is a harsh discordant noise

That is indeed the dictionary definition. When I worked on this shot what I began to see was a visible cacophony. Admittedly I do have a reputation for being somewhat creative in m y titles. If I have offended your sensibilities you have my apologies.

Brian, very nice image. Your new lens has allowed you to expand as a close-up photographer.

We all know that it is the photographer's talent, not the equipment, that produces good imagery. However, often it is the equipment that allows the photographer's talent to grow. The two areas in which this is evident are close-up and sports photography...

I agree, crop it so it's blaring from the lower right hand corner.

Absolutely. My Fujifilm helped me to learn the basics. The Sony with the 18/55 allowed me to explore RAW and to develop some skill with close-up shots. But I could not have gotten this shot without the Tamron 90.

For me, the amazing fact is that I have just scratched the surface of what my camera, lens and software are capable of. The only limiting factors now are my skills and my imagination.
