    Unnamed Waterfall

Looks like I am first, today. I have just been for a walk along Stoney Creek not far from my home, with the idea of practicing some waterfall shots. Unfortunately a lady tourist hiking the same track slipped and broke her arm just up in front of me. She was later rescued by a couple of ambulance paramedics who had to hike into the spot. It it wasn't until I got home that I realised I had inadvertently captured the incident in my photos. I have cropped it out of the attached picture.

This is my friend's son Josh - he & his brother are very accomplished cricketers, so now that I have built up some good will last summer taking cricket shots, they let me practice portraits on them today...

    Looks great Kay,

What were you using for lighting? A reflector, or a flash?

Thanks Teach'......I was only thinking of you when I stuck with the 'safe' option, as they say that Empty nest syndrome when the beginners all flee can be quite traumatic!

And I might have saved you at my expense....new models, new backgrounds, props, groups.....I've tried so much today, my wee head is spinning

this 1 was reflector, but silver side....

That's very good. Good model, great lighting, nice colours. And I like the edgy nature of it with the use of a chainsaw as a prop. Well done.

Re: Painting Today (Not like Picasso)

Today I am set to finish painting the kitchen for Steph so I can earn some brownie points to spend time doing up the hay loft for my studio come Novemeber.

Your getting good, but not as good as me, at the female psychology thing. Pretending that the kitchen is the territory/possesion of Steph allows you to deliver an act of kindness, painting it for her, no doubt at great inconvenience to your good self. Having done so you feel justification in awarding yourself a reward to compensate for the loss of personal time. By doing so you not only make her feel grateful for painting services rendered, but also make her feel bad about having to allow you self-awarded brownie points. I'd strike while the iron is hot, if I were you - go out and buy a new camera.

You missed a bit of the ceiling.

    Unhappy Day 10 October PAD

This is part of the ceiling of a Collegiate Church built in the thirteenth century by the Normans. the timber beams are original and were renovated a few years ago. These beams were cut from locally growing oak trees, sadly the trees are no more.

I think the restaurant is on the next floor down.

    Day 10: October 2010 PAD

Definitely a day of two halves today. Started very dreary and ended with harsh but rather hazy sunshine. Sometime between the two I found these Collared Doves on my birdtable.

Just a quick snap with a handheld Sigma 150-500.

Gorgeous, you can reach out and touch this one. You may consider cloning out that tendril thingy in the bottom left...but then you might not. Superb capture as usual.
