Midge (Chironomus sp)

There have been a lot of midges around this last few weeks and I posted an image a while back,
But I've become a bit fascinated by them and I spent a bit of time a few days back seeing just how 'detailed' a shot I could get.

They are not too difficult to find, resting up in the typical pose below, but waiting for that moment when there is no breeze + keeping the camera steady (I do use a monopod for stability), ... I'm still trying to straighten the kinks in my back and shoulders....

I prefer #2 as well, like Nandy...it is a lot clearer than the other two since that was your purpose. You've achieve it through that. (I am not commenting on the beauty, OK?)
