Well lit and exposed Rob, nice detail and good to see the eyes clearly.
Absolutely beautiful dog. I tried one of the images, using the NIK Viveza shadow adjustment slider and the structure slider. I think it allows some more detail in the coat. I placed a single control point on the coat and enlarged the control point to cover the entire dog. I also did a small dodge around both eyes...
BTW Rob: were you a Marine? I ask that because of the name of this handsome animal. I have never heard the name "Gunny" except in Marine Corps jargon (for Gunnery Sergeant)...

A beauty
Really nice, Rob. To have an even better result for the first one however, I would take out the dark area and shadow on the upper left. This would make the shadow of Gunny look even more dramatic. Great results though.
thanks rpcrow,
i like the detail in the hair, but the eyes are correct in the original pics, they are more orange ( for lack of a better color name) than in your picture and in those pictures he is running and looking into the setting sun.
and yes, my dad, my brother, my cousin, my self and one of my sons are all Marines, and that's where the name Gunny comes from.
What a nice beautiful dog! I love big dogs but to make each one of my rotties a lapdog will kill me.
Thank you for your service.
I usually wear a ball cap with my Vietnam Service very evident. People here in California often thank me for my service but, on a recent trip to the Charleston area of South Carolina, I was overwhelmed with people expressing gratitude.
Please accept my gratitude for yours and our family's service to our nation...
