    Man in Chair

I took this image on a visit to one of our local art centres. It struck me that the man's pose mimics the curve of the chair. I have taken out two ornaments that were around his head and distracting.

Very nice capture. I'm surprised that the art center allows anyone to sit in such an artistically designed chair.

Nice capture! his pose does mimic the curve of the chair. What an interesting and unusual chair!

I have been in touch with the Pah Homestead where I took the photo. They tell me that it has been exhibited before outdoors – here is an extract.
“SCULPTURE ON THE GULF SEEKS PAID PERFORMERS!!

Sriwhana Spong’s upcoming Sculpture on the Gulf art work, The Plum Tree, involves a sculpture and a performative element.

One performer will sit on the chair for up to an hour, once a day. The idea is that the ‘performer’ will not look like a performer to the general public, but they will be an important part of the work—helping accumulate a residue around the chair/sculpture during the course of the exhibition.”

I understand the performers were to eat plums and spit out the pips, whilst sitting in the chair (for $16 per hour). 😀

Here is info on the artist –
