San Juan Sunset

Yes, couldn't help it last night.
Honestly, I do not know what brought out the purple tones so much. (they were there but very subtle)
First time this has happened.

Okay, not a fantastic composition, but at least the sunset was beautiful

Really like the sky, Sharon. The foreground ...... hmmm. If you used RAW and do editing I think that you could achieve more and perhaps elevate it. Just my take.

hi Jim, thanks. I do photograph in raw, and I agree with your comments. The foreground trees are especially blah, but ... i think a different perspective/place to capture things would have been good.

This works OK. The foreground is kept to a narrow strip and it is in focus. Plenty of perspective depth to the scene and good contrast in the sky.

Very nice. My eye is drawn to that sky, which is as it should be. IMHO don't worry about the foreground, it acts as a frame and doesn't compete for attention.

Lovely sky...it was a beautiful afternoon in Arizona when I felt God's art work wowing the atmosphere with glorious colour of the sun setting more or less like your shot here. Very nice.
