Last of the roses

I didn't get to the photo show in Glasgow today so instead sat down to explore tethered capture using the last decent bloom in a bouquet of roses a friend had sent to my wife (who had replacement hip surgery 6 weeks ago). It is going to be more difficult than expected (surprise ) so I did a conventional macro instead, with a focus merge of 4 individual shots.



The purple at the bottom is from other flowers in the bunch but I left it there for the slight colour contrast.

Very nice portrait of a rose. You already seem to have a touch of purple in the petals on the right. Was this colour inherent in the petals, or was it from the lighting.

Looking again at the originals (flower and capture) the answer seems to be 'all of the above'. There is a very slight purple in the petals but it has been accentuated by the combination of lighting and the purple flower head behind and to the right of the petal in the shot.

You know what will be nice, Bill? -- try reversing the shot horizontally...then it will look better. Just a thought...
