It is cool, but the eye was a little small even when expanded, so here's a 100% crop, 696px square.

    Cheers,
That is an interesting little beastie, Dave.

I'm not sure about the ID as it doesn't easily fall into any of the ID Keys. Chrysopa pallens should have a distinctive black dot between the antennae, but I can't see anything there in the close up image.

Alternatively, it would seem to be from amongst the Chrysopa carnea group. But I think this would be one for the real experts to sort out.

It is certainly a clear photo with plenty of fine details visible.

    Bada-bing!

We've (USA) just had a judge issue an injunction against don't ask/don't tell, so I'm not allowed to do anything to them.

Amazing, Dave - fantastic shot, both overall and zoomed in. The details on the wings are incredible with the individual hairs visible, and the eye is hard to believe.

    Cheers,
    Rick

    Thanks Geoff,

I could well be wrong, just a book ID (and proper name).

    Cheers both,

I agree with Peter, Katy. This one is really good.

"Out of the Blue" or "Where's the sun?"

    Nice
