    the triangles (IMNHO) formed between the three front fence posts and the building make the shot. Powerful. No that's not the word. Gritty is the right word.

    Sharon, everything is this image is done with 'a heavy' hand and I think it works. Brian is right - gritty.

    Sorry, but I guess I am the odd one out. It's all a matter of taste, but this image doesn't work for me. The lines are very good, although IMHO, it could use some cropping from the top. However, it seems overprocessed to me--more or less the B&W analog of the grunge look in HDR. For me, the heavy processing distracts from the composition.

    Wow...Sharon...cloud heavy but the horizon is very effective here with that house at the almost side...very expressive.
