Anyone have any experience with Delkin memory cards?

For various reasons I'm looking to buy a new card for the second slot in my D750. My usual retailer (Ffordes photographic) has a limited range of cards - very limited in fact as they only stock Delkin brand. These are all rated as 163X SDHC Class 10 and are, well, either cheap or excellent value depending on how well they actually perform. I can't find any online reviews from a source that I would trust.

So, a specific question: does anyone have any direct experience using this brand?

    Thanks

Name sounds familiar but can't recall if I've ever purchased. I've never had any real issues (broken edge of enclosure though) and would expect most brands to have some history in the market. You won't find that brand in your manual as Nikon doesn't test every card manufactured. I would check forums or retailers to see how what purchasers have experienced with the brand.

I've never bought any. I always use SanDisk. However, B&H sells them, so you can see customer reviews there. At a glance, it looks like most people have been emtirely satisfied, although a few complain about fit and finish--e.g., not fitting properly or falling apart after a short time. However, I have no first-hand knowledge.

Thanks Dan - yes I had seen those reviews but I don't know anything about B&H and if the technical abilities of some of the reviewers matched their ability to write then I'd not pay much heed to what they have to say. Which is why I posed the question here

I think I may buy one, place it in slot 1, move the SanDisk to slot 2, and the settings to "use slot 2 as back up" and see how it goes.

    Hi Bill,

Delkin brings back memories. Had a Delkin card in a couple of Fuji compacts, oh...10 years ago. Never a problem. They didn't invent the compact card but ah think they were the first tae market with removable compact storage. Did they not have a factory in Scotland at one time - certainly the UK. They're big in the USA, American owned and run (then). Ah wouldn't have any qualms about using one. Like bike tyres and car tyres, there's only about a fag paper's difference between compact and SD cards from different brands. Fit it and forget it...IMO...
