    Easy Pass - North Cascades

Hike with hubs and the labs - Easy Pass. Name is misleading, it's not an easy hike, but is beautiful.
Camera battery died, so hubby's iPhone took the photo. Edited as a jpeg only. Some blown highlights, shadows maybe need a lift.

    Thanks for looking,

    Sharon

A pity about that over exposed patch of cloud. I wonder if you could get away with taking a bit of texture from other clouds and clone/patch in some fine detail?

Yes to both. Lesson learned about no battery backup for camera
The shadows were certainly blown. I attempted to bring them back, but too much lost and only a jpeg.
Should have never posted on CIC, but still thanks for looking. It is indeed a beautiful place . We even got snowed on.

Oh Sharon, don't say that. Of course you should. This is a place for learning. If we only ever post 'wow' images we'll never learn anything. It's from the ones that are not perfect that we do the most learning.

    It's a super composition.

How could you not post it! It is breath taking and I'm so glad I got to take that 'easy' hike with you. I bet you could clone a bit of the clouds as Geoff suggested. Beautiful composition BTW:-) Is the red Indian Paint brush? - seems a little early but then I can't get past some snow in our area to know if it is blooming yet here.

Thanks Donald. This is more of a professional site, so I'm always thinking I need to be way 'further along'.

Thanks Susan. It's actually red heather. This was taken in the late fall, and I just got around to playing a bit with it. Was gonna just leave it alone as it was taken with an iPhone ;0

I agree, you should have posted as it also serves as an incentive to return later. Nice effort.

This is really an awesome place and there is no reason you shouldn't post this here; even the blown out cloud adds a heavenly beauty, i feel...as if a harbinger of some miracle to ensue....

This is a nice place. It is just fitting to take a picture of this for future reference and memory it brought you. Now you will always remember tro take an extra batery. Haha…anyway, I went back to making a list about what to bring with me every time we intend to go out (most weekends) and put a separate list just inside my camera bag so I do not forget anything. Now for my cretique – the bottom of the picture is very nice and beautiful but in my opinion it needs to be cropped off a little there to show those red heathers enough. The sun is canary yellow? Or is it my monitor? Just curious, hence I asked…
