    I've never seen one of those before - it looks like a Christmas Beetle with a coat of nail varnish

    I believe it's an Anomala Scarab Beetle. Not uncommon where we are.

    You have done well with the exposure. Shiny bugs are so difficult. Good fine detail as well.

    exposure and pp. It was natural light and it had just rained.
