    Snack Time

    This is a morphing Little Blue Heron. Little Blue adults are quite blue but start life out pure white. Over the course of a year, they go from pure white to dark blue.

    Hi Chris I didn't know they were pure white when they were born.. The bird looks very nice, The FG is a bit distracting so I would crop about half of the blurred part from the bottom and I would reduce the highlights in the FG selectively.

    I tend to leave nature alone when making my edits...that's not to say I haven't cloned out a thing or two, or augmented a color or tone, but in general, where they are in their natural setting is almost as important as the bird or other featured element. Maybe this pose will work better for you.

    Personally I prefer the side faced one even if the second is nice too with its reflection.

    This is another composition and it is nice too, but the details of the bird look great in the first image
