Very beautiful
As you might guess Brian, I prefer this image because it is shows off the subtleties of the colours in the plant and flower that are lost in the B&W conversion.
Again, just to re-iterate. I give a lot of thought before I throw the colours away in an image. There is definitely a place for a traditional B&W image, but that really depends on the subject and a number of other factors. I rarely find it works well for flowers, birds and wildlife. It does work well in landscapes and portraiture.
Beautiful but a bit on the dark side
I agree with Binnur, Brian...that is the first thing I noticed...the light. You can adjust the exposure or brighten it a bit. The flower is beautiful. I have one of those or two ... three?
