We passed by the Xi’an Chinese Party Headquarters…
We finally ended up at the Tang Dynasty Dinner Show. This is one of the few show venues in China which will allow photography. I had an excellent seat and the 70-200mm f/4L IS lens was excellent for capturing the performers…
The next day we visited the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Although on our first day in Xi'an, it was relatively clear; the smog began building during our second day. Smog is pervasive throughout China and can become a big problem to photographers...
I enjoyed mingling with the Chinese visitors…
We visited a lacquerware factory and saw artists at work…
They produced lovely lacquer artwork…
We ate in a restaurant where a chef was making noodles…
And then visited the City Walls of Xi’an which have been kept in excellent condition…
Many of China’s city walls were destroyed during Mao’s Cultural Revolution but the walls of Xi’an survived in good shape. They are a highly regarded tourist site for both Chinese and foreign tourists…
The views from the walls are very interesting…
We had some time to walk the streets of Xi’an and watch the people…
There were subways beneath the street for pedestrian trffic…
And we marveled at the store decorations and especially at this lovely model posing in front of a prestigious department store…
Of course there were many other interesting sites and people to shoot…
