Spring in Melbourne is very unpredictable. Great rains today.

I asked some of the kids to pose with their instruments today......but things seem a bit mixed up - did they choose their own I wonder?

    Re: Day 13 Trinity Inlet

I went for a walk to the Reef Fleet marina late in the evening after work for my PAD photos. Really getting into this PAD thing so I splashed out with two photos for a change and had some practice changing lenses and generally mucking around with settings. Anyway, here are a couple views from the wharf looking up the inlet.

Having some experience with young musicians, I reckon flute should be in the right, violin to the left and tuba in the middle

This is so funny, Kay! I agree with Grant - the girl is the flute player (look at her clothes and hair), the curly haired guy is the violin player and the big guy carries the tuba in the marching band (the way he's sitting is totally tuba stance!) ....

    Bombus pascuorum on Nasturtium

    Day 13: October 2010 PAD

A bit dull today so I was considering photographing one of my last resort ideas; but it brightened in the late afternoon.

Not much life flitting around my garden but I did find a couple of late bumblee bees.

    My trusty bike

    Hi all,

Only had half an hour spare today to take some shots...so got my trusty bike out. I did take a couple of shots of the garage it lives in but that looked like stuff had just been thrown in and the door slammed shut..... The bike has a bright blue frame which with the red light could make a reasonable shot, but I'll have to experiment with extra lighting...sometime...

Reading the posts I can see I'm not the only one struggling to find enough time (and daylight) to take some photographs, but it's a fun challenge and I'm enjoying it...and as Rob noted.."nearly half way through" . Plumbing in a bathroom tomorrow...oh joy!

    After Wirefox

This Wirefoxian shot was taken this afternoon. The disease (Wirefoxia) is obviously rampant in our community.

My PAD album for October 2010

Very nice Rob. Colour and composition are spot on. These (deceptively) simple compositions make very powerful images.

I for one, would like to see far more of it. I really enjoy these kind of photographs.

But which items do I select from the medicine cabinet for the problem?

Syrup of Figs....cures all know compositional afflictions apart from a tendency to post the back of the bathroom door for each of the 30 PAD submissions. If you wish to excel at long exposure photography I prescribe Imodium. Two taken immediately after the first shutter release and another immediately after the camera starts to write to the card.

    Good luck

The second is my favourite too, I really like this type, it has initial appeal and then if I look closely, I see the people and the yachts in the distance.. very nice

You are both toooo clever! - go to the front of the class
& because it's PAD (Pick Anything & Do it) month, I also had a wee play with a strange button labelled HDR, not my cup of tea at all, but the young 'uns here said leave them like that....

Actually, I just took delivery of my 10-stop ND filter today, so I'm looking for ideas for what to shoot!
