Really seeing if download worked?
Really seeing if download worked?
'Fraid not Steve. Just the thumbnails. Back into Rob's thread here. You can use that thread as a test-bed as well to see if things upload properly for you.
Donald,
I can,t seem to find the copy image location! I have Robs thread printed out in front of me!
Right click on one of the images. That menu should, I think, have a 'Copy Image Location' option.
Then click on the 'Insert Image' button on the 'Reply' menu bar and paste the location into that.
Hopefully one of the Moderators will pick up this discussion and come in with what will probably be a much more helpful answer than I can give.
DON,
When I right click, all i get is a copy choice no copy image location?
Right. I'm not understanding why and am trying to find the answer.
Ah-hah. Do you have an option on that menu 'copy link location'? That's what I just did.
Right click the thumbnail
Click on 'Copy Link Location' option
Click on 'Insert Image' icon
Paste
Close.
Now, of course, one of the Mods will come on and tell us that this is all very bad advice.

Steve
I know it's frustrating until you get it working ... and then you wonder why it seemed so difficult.
I think my knowledge and skills are now running out. I'm assuming what we're talking about here is you trying to load up images via the second of Rob's list of three methods:-
- Tinypics upload
- Attachment on CiC
- Remote hosting
If you don't have a hosting site; e.g. Flickr, then have you tried the first route, Tinypics? I believe the advantages of the 1st or 3rd methods is that you're not actually loading images onto the site, you're merely making a link to them that's hosted elsewhere. So you're not using up memory space on this site.
Again, sorry for not being able to be more helpful. I am quite sure that Dave or Rob, once they do pick up on this thread, will provide you with answers that will make sense.
DON
thank you for your efforts, and when I left click on the thumb it comes up larg?
Hi Steve,
Sorry you're having a frustrating time...
"Copy Shortcut" is the right option to use for that browser (probably Internet Explorer) - it means the same as Copy Image Location (and/or Copy Link Location).
So yes;
a) Left click the thumbnail to make it bigger
b) Right click and Copy Shortcut, then Close the picture
c) Click "Edit Post"
d) Put the cursor somewhere suitable (may need a couple of carriage returns)
e) Click theInsert Image icon
f) "Ctrl"+"V" straight in to paste the Shortcut into the dialog box and hit Return/Enter
g) Repeat steps a), b), d), e), and f) for any other images
h) Click "Save" to save the changes
It takes longer to read than do, after a couple of goes
Sorry, a lot of people here use Firefox or derivatives, if we made the instructions say the phrases for all the different browsers, they'd be twice as long but perhaps we should include "IE speak" too. I really wish the different browser writers would use the same words for the same things too - I'm a part-time web developer and it's even worse behind the scenes for incompatibilities
Thanks for trying to help out Donald.
Cheers,
