Kirby

Kirby is a 4-month old Shih Tsu that we rescued from a Los Angeles shelter yesterday. He is larger in size than many of our dogs (he weighs 12.5 pounds or about 5.6 kilograms) so it is hard to realize how young this boy actually is. He was a little fearful at first but, is rapidly realizing that this is a nice place to stay (far better that the shelter).







Looking at these images, Kirby could easily be a Shih Tsu - Maltese mix...

Thanks for the nice comments. It is really easy to shoot a nice portrait of a good looking dog, or a good looking person for that matter.

We have two rescue events each month. This Saturday, our event is at a PETSMART Store in the La Jolla area of San Diego. I make a poster to display in the store a few days in advance of the event. I am delivering the poster this morning...



I don't have to name the place of the event on the poster, since I am putting the poster up in the store where we are holding the event.

COSTCO does a very nice job printing the 16x20 inch print for $7 US Dollars. I would use up that cost in ink alone if I were to print it at home. Besides, my Pixma Pro 900 Mk-2 will only print up to 11x13 inch prints...

We have limited our events to two locations because the locations we have chosen are very affluent. I did a demographic search of median incomes in order to decide on locations in which the adoptive family are likely to have the income which would allow vet care for the adopted dogs. Sure, lower income people should be able to have dogs but, many of the dogs that are surrendered to us are surrendered because the family doesn't have (or is unwilling to spend) the money for needed vet care. We certainly don't want any dogs we adopt out to be surrendered because of lack of funds for vet care.
