Helpful Posts: Spent Sunday at Caerlaverock on a macro workshop. There were lots and lots of blue damselflies but only one red version spotted by any of the 8 of us (2 leaders and 6 participants). Here it is, warts and all - completely limited by where the fly wanted to bask.

Nice capture. This is the Large Red Damselfly Pyrrhosoma nymphula, found throughout the UK.

Excellent shot! I like the composition too. This is one thing I wouldn't mind being in the center of the frame.
