Great photo, Richard. It's a Bicolor White and Purple Alstromeria, sometimes called a Peruvian Lily.

Gorgeous colors, composition, depth, etc., etc.
Nicely done.
great shyot. I'd find a place in our yard for that flower![]()
Such a beauty....; only one suggestion. If you make that white border line, thinner beauty will be enhanced![]()
Thanks for the comments and the identification...
These flowers grow on bushes in great profusion at a local botanic garden...
Here is another lovely plant. Yes, the color is that vivid. I did a white balance with the WhiBal Card and did not increase the vibrancy or saturation...
Shot these with my new (purchased it used) Canon 100mm f/2.8 (non-IS) Macro Lens. I also used a Yongnau Ring Flash at a 1:3 ratio...
both additions are excellent
Alan, maybe it was not a bush, just a profusion of the flowers which gave an impression of being a bush! I will look closer the next time I visit the Botanic Gardens. County residents are allowed in free of charge once each month...
Good composition. Very pretty, Richard.
Compared to the other, here the red is a bit too saturated; within one week or two, hope we will be able to see some beautiful pup-images![]()
Very attractive flower and image. In the UK Alstromeria is known as Day Lily because the individual flowers last only a day. However, they are borne in groups so there is at least one in flower over a,long time.

So pretty. I especially like your second shot Richard. It catches the exotic jazz of those blooms. :-)
