    Old shoes

Another picture taken in middle of the day with harsh light, post processed in B&W with modification of lights.
Easy to realize: reduce drastically the exposure then with a brush (and variable percentage and angle) paint over what you want to reveal.
Much more easier than realize that in studio but is it cheating?

And I thought I was the only one with an interest photographing in old shoes.

No, it's making use of the tools at your disposal and very well done too.

    Jean,

Well seen and I like how you processed it. You gotta wonder who they belonged to.
I don't consider it cheating at all.

Nicely done, I quite like my harsh light photos in color unless the shadows go completely black and colors are on the bland side. However, I am looking for the perfect subject in black and white to test out some metallic papers and shiny, black and white subjects were thought to be a good idea.

Very nice! Great details and beautiful boots. I like how the lighting adds to the mood. Wonder what the stories are from those boots?

Will doing a dark vignette to enclose the portion only works too? Then brush off the parts that matters most to you? Just thinking out loud. This is a nice inspiration to take a shot of my old Harley Davidson boots before I toss it out because it is really old now…
