As I think some of us said when it was first posted, it's got to have massive commercial potential (if we didn't, we meant to)

Shot alongside the Jubilee 'river' - which is actually a Thames flood relief channel, but 'landscaped' for diverse wildlife, this being part of the Dorney Wetlands.

We have some bits that were cut off our trees for Bonfire Night and this blackbird landed close to me.

    Grey Heron

This example seems to have picked a fight with the wrong opponent, but that may be incorrect; apparently it is their molt season and besides, apart from swans, there aren't any other birds as tall as the Grey Heron round these parts.

    Cormorant

Must have had a good day last Saturday; here's another I'm quite pleased with ..

I find it interesting how the species' numbers are varied this year from last; this year lots of Cormorants and far fewer Great Crested Grebes on the stretches of river I frequent.

    Anyone else noticed this effect?

Sorry to all posters above for not commenting. I haven't been very diligent in looking into this thread.

There's just such a lot of good stuff.

I'm more of a stand-around-and-look-at-the-scene-for-a-while sort of guy, whereas you have to be able to work and react much more quickly to capture what you've presented here, for which you have my admiration.

Here's a reason to walk slowly, quietly and keeping your eyes open when out with the camera.

I caught a Kestrel having a rest and a groom on the signpost.

I was slowly creeping closer, but eventually the inevitable happened; some people came along and s/he was off, just as I took my eye from the viewfinder

So just a 'reflex' pan - could have been worse
