Hi,
I don't see many wildlife threads on here, which is a shame as pictures of animals are always wonderful . So it would be nice to start my first thread here for people to share some photos and see what others think of them.

Just to kick it off, one my own

I'm also very fond of leopards so I agree, great shot .

On my last visit to Kruger, we had the privilege of coming across a Leopard cub:



When he laid down and looked at us, however, I messed up the focus and I was very very upset . It was such a magical moment that I would have loved to capture on film...

I think your photos still capture the moment even if they aren't ready to be matted and framed. I'm sure they will still evoke strong memories of that moment years from now, and that's pretty valuable to have.

I too screwed up the focus on a leopard shot:



I've been kicking myself ever since. I let my camera focus on the grass instead of his face!

Here are a couple of my leopards. I was lucky enough to see a male at dusk (and I had my decent flash with me) then a mother and two cubs.

Some very nice pictures indeed . Steve and Jim, I especially like the pictures of the deer. The textures are really nice and the use depth of field works really well I think.

This is the state bird of Hawaii, the Nene goose. I love the colors and texture of the feathers.

Good to see some photos from the tropics, Shane. I think the "gal" above is a Red Tropic Bird, am I right? We also get them around here in Northern Australia.

Here is my contribution. Photographed at Centennial Lakes in the middle of Cairns, this morning. Quite a treat for the tourist to see one in its natural habitat. An Amethystine Python. Australia's largest snake, it grows to over 5 metres.
