I would like a bit low sharpening...ad the most beautiful part is the projection of the wheel out of the frame....

Hi John I like the PP work. Is this a shot of an old image from the fair or is it your processing that made me think this way?

Thanks Jean, thanks Nandakumar thanks Binnur for the comments.

It is sharp Nandakuma but I don't think it is over sharp. It maybe the comparison with the BG that makes it look that way - I don't know.

Binnur, it's the processing. The BG was very busy (buses and tents etc,) and I wanted the traction engine to stand out. I separated it from the BG and took the BG contrast down quite a bit via an adjustment layer with a gradient mask to retain slightly more contrast in the sky.

This is to me, not web quality. It has this certain chunk to it that belongs to a wall presentation. The slight OOF on the wheel is extra nice…

Plain but powerful just like the engine says. :-) Nice shot and PP.

Thanks Izzie, thanks Susan. It's a bit of history. He must have spend hours rebuilding and maintaining this engine, not just for himself but for generations to come.
