Red Legged Partridge
Taken on the fells near where I live. Interesting (to me) because it isn't native to this part of the world. I think it must have been in transit.
Fuji X-T2 plus 100 - 400mm lens with 1.4x converter.

Re: Red Legged Partridge
Nice image John, they are resident in UK - I have seen them around here in South Wales albeit not for a long time it has to be said, shame as they are handsome birds. Introduced by man to the UK undoubtedly so they could be shot ! - https://www.rspb.org.uk/birds-and-wi...ggedpartridge/

Re: Red Legged Partridge
Thanks all for the comments. Mark, thanks for the link. When I say "this part of the World", I mean't the North West of England where I live. You can see what I mean from the link that you provided. They are mainly found on the Eastern side of the UK -as you say, probably bred for shooting on the North Yorks Moors - with a small population in Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man. I think this one must have been on it's way to visit relatives in one direction or the other.
