Roller Derby Queens
Horrible Lighting so was forced once again to shoot at a High ISO because of my lens choice 24-120 f/4 on a D500. I probably would have been able to drop to ISO 2500 had I brought the 50mm 1.8 but then would have had to crop severely to get decent shots and in the end, noise would still permeate the shot...I've learned to live with it and am now trying to find a better de-noising program than NIK's Define.
From what I could gather, there is one lady on a team of five who is a designated "Jammer." Her task is to get through the defending five gals by ramming and slamming. According to the rules, hand usage is not allowed, however any other part of the body is except legs as purposeful tripping devices. Each time the Jammer makes it through in a certain time frame, she earns points.
These gals were pretty tame compared to what I remember on TV back when...way back when.
ISO 10,000, f/5.6 (needed some DOF) @ 1/400
