These Cleg Horseflies look so attractive, it is a pity they are such as nuisance. Some people get a bad reaction from the bites. I usually just get a slight swelling around the bite position and a bit of itchiness for a few days.
Long sleeved shirt and long trousers is my 'rig of the day' when I'm in questionable areas but sometimes they will even bite through a shirt!
ps It is only the females which bite.

Nasty things if they can go through a shirt ive been going here for a couple of years its near a river and i go for the damselflies i havent seen these before and had 2 on me today
