    Macro minimalism - the snail

this is a tiny snail that was sliding along a blade of leave. I waited till it reached the end.

Second image looks nicely humourous but yes, lacking a bit in sharpness.

Snails are very tricky to get looking perfect and in this case, with so much negative space, the subject needs to have super sharp focus.

I knew the second image would get the "unsharp" comments because it is. I liked the image because of the comical predicament it got itself into. BTW, thanks for the comments.

If someone was in focus they wouldn't find themselves in #2's position. I think the focus is perfect for the shot. Though perhaps finding a way to lift the snail away from the bg might help?

When someone is focused they don't get into difficult situations like the snail finds itself in. So a slightly out of focus snail fits the scenario. But he fades into the bg a bit.

I assume by "someone" you mean the subject of the image..... Out of focus does not apply!

Out of curiosity, why is this thread "sticky"?

    I blame the snail

    (perhaps unfairly on several counts)

Yes, I noticed that yesterday and wondered myself, I will un-sticky it now.

    UPDATE:
No longer sticky - and thinking about it, it may have been me that inadvertently stuck it

I recall going in and changing the first letter of the thread title to be a capital letter, it's possible I accidentally stuck it while doing that, since the options are in the same menu
