    Wasp fun

Quickly captured using the pop up flash just to see what I could get as he was wandering over a window trying to find his way out.

    105mm macro, 1/250s, f/18, ISO400

    No 1 - Seeing double

I really like the first one partly for the double reflection created presumably by a double-pane window.

    Good question John.

Technically they are certainly not to the standard I like to achieve in my macro work.

But as an experiment for which I was chasing a continuously moving critter, close up and am well experienced of how these guys attack and sting, along with using just the pop up flash (of which we all generally say is a not good) I think they are fun results

It's a single pane window Mike that I estimate is around 4mm thick.

For info, I used centre point AF (AF-Continuous) with the camera set to only fire when it registered in focus. Tracking him was hit and miss. Only PP was to drop highlights slightly, downsize and sharpen.
