I had very limited control over this and very limited space. Too much meat on the table?
Clone out the coffee cups? Other suggestions? I think I will visit another butcher and see if I can do better.



Well, I have had 16-20 tries to upload this. Even reduced the size from 1080 pixels high to 1000. Even reduced file size from just over 400 to just under 400. It says file moved or deleted but can open it in Photoshop. Always been successful in uploading before. Is there a bug or glitch?

Very nice environmental portrait.
I'd not bother cloning out the coffee cups as they don't seem to draw the viewer's eye. However, I suggest cropping out a horizontal slice from the foreground where the bottom of the table edge meets the right hand side, as well as a vertical strip at the panel edge just to the right of the wall-mounted thermometer, to eliminate some space and details that add nothing to the story.

Very nice image Jim The coffee cups can be cloned or stay as they are . they don't distract , but they have no relation with the scene.

Yes, leave the cups.

The bottom edge is a bit out of focus so I would consider a slight crop there, which would tend to bring the butcher forwards and gain a bit in his importance to the scene. However, that would mean a different size ratio. Possibly take a balancing amount from the right side and retain the current ratio but that would leave the main subject a bit close to the right edge and throw the composition balance sideways.

Nice conversion. I like the idea of leaving the coffee cups in place because they are probably an everyday item in the butcher's working environment. Agreed with the crops already suggested for the reasons already given.
