    Lavanders

I'm happy that Tinypic let me upload my images This is a lavander field near where I live. The last image is something new for me as I don't usually shoot flower close-ups , but the lavanders were so nice that I gave it a go.

Please don't edit the images, C&C appreciated as always

I have just noticed that the image looks a bit soft, I think the softness comes from the glamour glow filter effect in CEP4.

I can smell the lavender. Yes the glamour glow does soften the image a bit but, not to a distracting point...

All three images are just wonderful. They make a nice set but each image also stands very well on its own.

Thank you Mike We don't have many lavander fields around , so I didn't have many options for different compositions and I tried to do my best.

Very nice, I like the foreground spread in the second image; looks like it was shot from an overhead angled position.

First one-a beauty of convergence; last one a play of depth of field... really beautiful images, all the three

Number 1 my fav. The 2nd one looks a little too sun kissed to me, but it could be just me.

These are beautiful images. I could not help it, but I did wonder how it would look like if the POV was from the other end of those beautiful flowers.

    Re: Lavanders

Thank you Sharon The second image was shot about 10 minutes before the first one and it was towards the evening, may be that's why the second image looks brighter. Also shooting angles of both images are different from each other and that might make a difference. I can always reduce the highlights a bit in #2 ,no problem

    Re: Lavanders

Thank you very much Steven Unfortunatelly there wasn't a nice scene behind me, some old barns and bushes..So, if the POV was from the other hand the composition would look crowded and dirty. Also IMO the light conditions wouldn't be very helpful as the sun was setting on my left and a bit behind me.If I shot from an opposite POV I would probably get something similar to a silhouette image.

I am with John (Shadowman) in his comments. I also noticed that #2 shot spread. You were at the right place there with a good angle. I do not mind the softness.,..they are not solo flower shots.

Thanks for looking and commenting Isabel It was a nice place to work with a wide angle lens. There are also some vineyards around where I live. I'm planning to shoot them with my wide angle lens to create some leading lines with the row of grape plants. Let's see how it works

Very nice, Binnur. I particularly like the second and third images, but would be tempted to play with the white balance in the second one, as it looks a bit on the warm side.

Who could possibly be more qualified to critique these images than someone whose screen name is purplehaze?

Someone who isn't viewing on an iPad with Night Shift colour correction on, perhaps? (Oops.) Sorry if I am off base, Binnur. I will try to refrain from making comments on colour until I am viewing on a calibrated monitor. Which I don't have because the old Spyder doesn't work on the new iMac. (Sigh.)

    Re: Lavanders

Thanks for looking and commenting Janis Both images were shot towards the evening, so the light was warm. Colors in #1 and #2 look similar to each other on my screen but the second image has more sunshine as Sharon already mentioned. May be that's why it looks a bit warmer Or it might be just my PP work which makes the difference as it is not easy to edit two images with exactly same colors Anyway your eagle eyes noticed the slight difference , thanks BTW, yesterday I played with the hue and saturation adjustment layer a bit and changed the color of the ground in #2 to the color of lavanders and also I did some cloning. The orange-like ground doesn't show anymore . Also reduced the highlights just a bit. Now two images are more similar in terms of color and light, but #2 is still a bit brighter. I didn't feel the need to upload the edited version as the original doesn't look bad either. But if I decide to upload the image to Flickr , I will upload that edited one. BTW after watching #1 and #2 for long enough to make a choice , I think my preference is #2 too (The hill on the left spoils the balance of the image in #1 and that's why I like #2 more, IMO better POV and composition)

Thanks again for looking, liking and commenting
