    Rotstockli

Rotstöckli is a peak of the Urner Alps below the Mount Titlis. The deep blue sky is from the use of a polarizing filter (and crystal clear skies at 3,020 meters -- 10,000 feet).

Hi John It must be very exciting to climb there and to shoot this image. What are those ropes on the RHS for?

Thank you Binnur for your comments - I had a great time hiking about the area. I do not know the purpose of the pole and rope/cable on the right side of the rok is for, but I suspect it is for raising (or lowering) something. I could not walk out there to see as the area around was roped off (and I was not equipped to venture out there either).

Not a scene that you're exactly used to seeing in Texas!

Very dramatic and appropriately so, John. I wonder if you tried creating a little more contrast in the snow; though you've attained the distinction between the grey and white tones, I wonder if just a little more differentiation would be even more appealing.

Very nice out there...that rope cannot be a part of a zipline, or is it? maybe not...good shot!
