    None of my business but Imaging Resource says it's closest focus is 4 meters and the diagonal angle of view is well under 5 degrees if your camera has an APS-C sensor. Quite a hop up from 300mm/APS-C . .

    Remember Ted you are dealing with a brilliant but ignorant photographer. The 500 would b not so good in the yard but I'm thinking it might be better for lunar and deep space?
