    Iguana Macro Photos

These are my favorite macros from my recent trip to Puerto Rico. I used an 85mm lens and only had to get within 2 ft of them. I guess they'll whip you with their tails or possibly bite you if you get too close.

Reminds me that I worked for 25 years in a room abutting an enclosure with two of these beasts and I never got round to photographing them. A great pity really as I would love now to have some pics of such photogenic animals, now we are retired.

The images show off the interesting skin texture of the critters. Nicely done, Zak.

Very nice images Zak I think some highlight adjustments are necessary for all images, especially in the environments.

Yes these ones were friendly with people. In the wild they'll bite or whip their tails if threatened.

Yes. ... beautiful textured beast! The only time I ever see them are when they are in a large glass tank in the zoo environment making themselves pretty. These are beautiful shots, Zak.

Three good images of a fascinating animal. I think I might be a little wary about getting close. Telephoto rather than WA then.
