    Puffin bringing back dinner

This shot shows a puffin bringing back food, sand eels, for it's only chick. The puffin is a total sea bird only coming ashore once per year to lay a single egg that they incubate in a burrow. Picture taken on Lunga Island, Scotland.

Thank you Geoff, I really struggled to catch them as they fly so fast, straight into the burrows

Excellent work Gerry - it's not easy to catch these in flight.

It was so hard to get some decent shots, probably a handful from hundreds. It was a loosely organised tour, to constrained by time

Great captures. They make wonderful subjects...

What gear did you use for these captures?

Richard, the 1st shot was taken using a Tamron 70-300mm, the 2nd one was with Canon 24-70mm on Canon 6d.
