The Three Churches of Mahone Bay.

Amongst other things, Mahone Bay in Nova Scotia is known for its three churches of different denominations, that line the Bay front. From left to right, they are the Anglican Church of St. James , the United Church of Canada and the Lutheran Church. The tree line behind would have been a riot of colour had we been there about 3-4 weeks later. As it is, I have applied a touch of pseudo IR to the greenery.

Interesting looking spot John, I think you've done well in both the capture and processing of the image.

Lovely shot. IMO, in this image, bisecting the frame with the pseudo horizon works quite well.

I agree with everyone here -- the PP is excellent.

Thanks all for the comments. Richard, fortunately I think it is the symmetry that Lets me get away with it.

Hi John, I agree with all the comments above. Nevertheless, what I am about to suggest may be viewed as heresy :-( If it does not conflict too much with your values about true representation, then I would reverse the shot, which would mean that the church on the left would then be on the right. It is the most eye-catching. Doing so would stop the eye wandering out of the picture. Now, I fully understand that you might well not wish to do so. Just the way I would go, but then I am a heathen. Duh.

I would be in two minds Jim. In the main, my interest is in "making" an image and to produce what I see in my minds eye, I will happily manipulate the raw material so to speak. But I tend to believe that record, natural history and photo journalistic shots deserve accuracy. The three churches are well enough known to fall into the record category and so as I say, I would be more reluctant to change what is.

P.S. The views stated above are purely personal and others may have a different approach but I hope that my expressing them will not start another debate on the subject.
