Late afternoon, I just saw this little girl on her own and grabbed a shot. No time to wait. Any thoughts welcome.

Well spotted Dave, I like the shadow and reflection, I think you could possibly loose a little from the sky at the top.

And you could afford to lose a balancing amount from the right side to retain the current size ratio.

Cropping to 4 x 5 ratio would be another option but in this particular case I rather like having a tall image.

At first sight I thougth the image needed some cropping , but I couldn't think of a better alternative frame and I decided that the image looks nice as is

Great eye, Dave! The position of her head and hand where the sand is the background is just perfect. The same is true for the position of the reflection of her head entirely within the trapezoidal shape.

Just as it is for me Dave. I really like the feeling of space. It gives context to the toddler that she is.

Thanks for the feedback. I played around with the crop, and this is what works for me.

I imagine that her parents would have like a copy, but don't know where they were!

Excellent photo! Very well seen and captured.
I'd suggest cropping horizontally above the girl leaving about an inch band of water above her head, to eliminate the empty space above and de-centralize the band of sandy beach.
