I offer this suggestion with great reluctance because your shot is fabulous. Perhaps clone out the bright spot in the eye and add some clarity and structure to the wings and body? Particularly structure to the wings. The cloning is simple but the wings and body would require an exceptionally fine hand.

It looks lovely Jim I agree with Brian about cloning the spot.

That's an exceptional image Jim. I agree with Brian's suggestions. If you have a Nik Structure plugin available or a micro contrast tool, the near side wings do harden up quite well. Don't apply it to the body though. It doesn't need it.

Thanks all for the comments and feedback. First time I have taken the camera out this summer.

Agree with the feedback and gave it a go.

Jim, I found that a bump to the image's clarity in LR accentuated the lower wings to an extent....

Very nice capture, Jim. I'm in the minority here, but I prefer the original image with the highlight in the eye. I think it's natural and caused by the ambient light reflecting off of the angled dragonfly's compound eye.

Thanks for the edit Tony and you have captured a little more detail, thanks.

Thanks Randy for the feedback. I guess I can go either way. Nature of the beast when shooting dragons in the sun.

    Really nice capture!

    Thanks Judith.

Hi Izzie and thank you for taking a look.
