    I like it - lovely tones but don't think that the foreground is contributing much.

    To some extent the foreground places the mountains into some form of context; but yes, the foreground is rather dark and a crop to more of a panoramic size does create a different sort of scene.

    I disagree about the foreground. It brings its own contribution to an excellent composition.

    I am also one of those odd person who like the whole scene -- including the foreground. Comparing it to cooking, the sauce is in the foreground. It is not doing any harm including it though it is a bit darker than the 'subject'. I like it. I agree with John (Rostron). +1 to his comment.

    It is not uncommon for very good photographs to offer several crop options that work just about equally well.
