    I wonder if the younger people participating here at CiC know what a layaway plan is (without looking it up ).

    I remember that Sears was a major provider of layaway plans. So, just for kicks, I looked them up to see if they still offer a layaway plan. Sure enough, they do.

    Its amazing how easily "credit" overtook the layaway plan, the layaway plan had a negative connotation and "credit" was considered a sign of status.

    Credit cards also give instant access to the product being purchased, whereas the layaway plan makes the customer wait to take the product home.

    here in the Philippines it is in most stores. Many stores don't accept credit cards.

    The shop that offers the layaway program is named "ALL CASH PAWN"

    Just for kicks, I looked up this lens on eBay. Copies of this lens have been selling as low as $10 USD...
