Last photo before they died
Not a great photo but a lot of fun to make. These guys were attending to the nest they had attached to the ceiling of my carport, so I took their photo before killing them and removing the nest.
I don't know anything about little critters, so I would appreciate an identification.

Those look a like the wasps we have around our eves, until my wife has me take them out.
Mud daubers maybe? (thanks for the spelling Nandy!)
Had a phone repairman tell me about the time he opened up a box on a pole, found a giant nest inside. They attacked him. It nearly killed him because he was allergic to them. Spent some time in the hospital if I recall correctly. He was very cautious opening our box and I don't blame him. Wasps can sting more than once, unlike bees which are usually a one shot deal.
