    Hi Les Is this a severe crop ? I think there is pixelation in the image.

    I was lucky it was resting in the top of a swinging chair and i managed to get right up face on i got one picture but it was good so i cropped it and this is the result

    Yes it it a tight crop Could it be oversharpened

    I haven't seen such an effect because of oversharpening Les. How does your cropped image look before sharpening ? If you see the same artifacts in the cropped (but not sharpened) image , then it means there is pixelation because of too much cropping

    Some more experienced members might know better than me about the matter though

    perhaps a circular vignette to take away the distraction?
